Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Vaile Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 58 701 414 655), Level 10, 387 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000. In this policy, Vaile, we and us mean that company.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What this policy covers
This website: its pages, its early-access form and the emails you send us.
Vaile is a free, private vault for the paperwork of a healthcare career. The vault is not open yet. When it opens, the Vaile app will have its own privacy policy covering your documents, your email connection and everything else a vault holds.
3. What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the early-access list.
- What you write to us, and your email address, if you email hello@vaile.com.au.
- Technical information our hosting provider records when you visit, such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages requested. Every website receives this. It is used to keep the site running and secure.
4. What we do not collect
- No cookies of our own, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking across other sites. Our Cookie Policy has the detail.
- No documents, identity details or health information. This website does not ask for them.
5. How we use it
- To tell you when early access opens and to send you news of Vaile's launch. Every email has a link to stop them.
- To reply to you.
- To keep the website secure and running.
We do not sell your information, and we never give your email address to anyone to market to you.
6. Who we share it with
- Netlify, which hosts this website and receives the early-access form.
- Google Workspace, which handles hello@vaile.com.au.
- Anyone the law requires us to disclose it to.
7. Where it is held
Netlify is a United States company and may store form submissions and server logs outside Australia. Google may also store email outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we remain accountable for it.
8. How long we keep it
Your early-access email stays on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you have not set up a vault within 12 months of early access opening to you, we delete it.
Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to deal with what you asked.
9. Your choices
- Stop our emails with the link in any of them, or by emailing hello@vaile.com.au.
- Ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. We will answer within 30 days. If we ever refuse, we will tell you why in writing.
10. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union
Many people who join our list are preparing to move to Australia, from the UK and Ireland in particular. Data protection law where you live also gives you rights over your information.
- We hold your early-access email because you asked us to. That is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by stopping our emails.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit what we do with it, ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere and object to how we use it.
- You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK (ico.org.uk) or the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
11. Security
We keep what we hold to the minimum above: an email address and your messages. Only the people who run Vaile can see them. No system is perfectly secure. If an eligible data breach affects you, we will tell you promptly, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
12. Complaints
Email hello@vaile.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
13. Changes
We will post any change here and update the date above. When the Vaile app opens, its own policy will be published and this page will point to it.
14. Contact
hello@vaile.com.au, or the postal address in section 1.
